Stevenson Fiber Construction
Project Description
Sawtooth Technologies, LLC
installed the Stevenson fiber network in conduit and on Skamania
PUD poles. The route is being completed in three phases. As of November
22, all permits and easements with landowners, municipalities, and government agencies
have been completed. As of December 2nd, construction and splicing of phase 1 has been completed.
With enough fiber and hardware on hand, the first part of phase two
will be completed by December 31st. Further extension across State
Highway 14 will coincide with the City of Stevenson road improvement project.
This project is scheduled to start in January, 2003. Once the City road
project is complete, there will be ample conduit and fiber
serving local business in downtown Stevenson.
The final leg of the project connects to 1st Street., where the Port of
Skamania County is planning to construct fiber from the waterfront and
Port Business Park.
