Project Description

Sawtooth Technologies found this fiber project to be essential for improving service, reliability, and capacity to its customers in Skamania County. After two years of discussion with various groups and organizations in Skamania County, Sawtooth Technologies constructed the Stevenson fiber project with loans from the Skamania Economic Development Committee and the Cascadia Revolving Fund.

History of Project

The Skamania County Public Utility District (PUD), Port of Skamania County (Port), and Skamania County Economic Development Council (EDC) retained Sawtooth Technologies, LLC (Sawtooth) and subcontract consultants CTEKS, Technomethods, and Barney and Worth to review the communications needs within the serving area of Skamania County to help determine the feasibility of building a fiber optic-based backbone communications system in Skamania County. Sawtooth evaluated internal PUD needs, Port needs, and other needs related to economic development in Skamania County.

SCOPE OF WORK

The project work is detailed by two phases below. This phasing does not prohibit any one task within any phase from being done prior to another. A project work plan may have several tasks from within different phases running concurrently. The tasks identified herein are from the project team's perspective and are not intended to be the final tasks to be performed, or as an all-inclusive listing.
